Anomalous temperature dependence of the effective mass in p -type Bi2Te3

چکیده

Infrared reflectance measurements have been carried on highly $p$-type ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}{\mathrm{Te}}_{3}$ crystals over the broad temperature range from 10 to 650 K and their response function investigated. An anomalous nonmonotonous dependence of plasma edge frequency is observed---with a pronounced redshift blueshift that appear above below room temperature, respectively. Such behavior explained in terms evolution free carrier optical weight $N/{m}^{*}$ given by particular total concentration $N$ (determined transport measurements) characteristic (optical) mass ${m}^{*}$. The effective strongly varies ${m}^{*}=0.1{m}_{0}$ (${m}_{0}$ electron rest mass) at ${m}^{*}=0.5{m}_{0}$ respective ${m}^{*}=0.9{m}_{0}$ depending evaluating procedure. interpretation corroborated complementary magnetotransport magnetoreflectivity experiments.

Temperature dependence of the anomalous effective action of fermions in two and four dimensions

The temperature dependence of the anomalous sector of the effective action of fermions coupled to gauge and pseudo-scalar fields is computed at leading order in an expansion in the number of Lorentz indices in two and four dimensions. The calculation preserves chiral symmetry and in particular reproduces the known temperature independence of the axial anomaly. Gauge invariance under both large ...

Temperature Dependent Model for Hole Effective Mass in Heavily Doped p-type SiGe

As a consequence of compressive strain and alloying, the hole effective mass inp-type strained SiGe differs significantly from its Si value. Influencing the carrier concentrations in the base, the hole effective mass affects the base transport properties of npn SiGe HBTs. A new model for hole effective mass is presented in this work, which takes into consideration the dependence on temperature,...

Anomalous Temperature Dependence of NQR Frequencies

The anomalous temperature dependence of NQR frequencies which is often observed in crystals in which there is reorientational motion of ions or molecules is considered. Two theories of the phenomena, the jump rotation theory and the pseudo-spin theory, are described, and their successes and failures are discussed. The importance of considering other properties such as pressure dependence of NQR...

Temperature dependence of the intrinsic anomalous Hall effect in nickel

The unusual temperature dependence of the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in Ni is investigated by an experimental approach which enables us to extract the intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity over the whole temperature range. In stark contrast to the existing literature, the intrinsic contribution in Ni is found to be strongly temperature dependent between 5 and 150 K, where the corresponding mag...
